David Douglas Botanical Gardens Visitor Centre

David Douglas Botanical Gardens Visitor Centre

This concept plan is proposed as a central structure in the David Douglas Botanical Gardens at UNBC.  This single-level 3387 sq. ft. building would include facilities for small conferences, weddings and educational events.  It would also function as the public gateway to the gardens with visitor information and a coffee bar.  In addition to office space for the garden operations there is a larger kitchen is included to support events.

A combination of solid timber and glue-laminated timbers create an open, natural and inviting space.  The overall design considers ease of pre-fabrication of pre-finished panelized walls.
